Driver Causes Estimated $13,000 in Damage in Accident
One driver is responsible for an estimated $13,000 in damage following an accident involving three vehicles, two of which were parked. Thirty five year old, Brent Otterson was under the influence of drugs when the accident occurred. Otterson was traveling on the 600 block of First Avenue South in Jamestown, VA at approximately four in the morning on June 5th. He reached down to adjust his radio and lost control of his car. He slammed into a parked vehicle, which was forced into another vehicle. Otterson immediately left the scene, but was apprehended shortly after. He was taken into custody for driving while under the influence of drugs and for failure to give immediate notice of an accident.
1 800 411 Pain strongly advises drivers against driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Not only is this illegal, but it is also extremely dangerous. Otterson is very fortunate that his actions did not harm anyone. Had there been people in those cars, the outcome could have been much different. 1 800 411 Pain wants to see the roads a safer place for everyone. Do not drive while under the influence of any mind-altering substances.

Train Collision Sends Five to the Hospital

According to Sacto 9-1-1, five people were sent to the hospital after a passenger train collided with a car on March 29, 2012. When the train made contact with the initial vehicle (a black BMW), it forced the car into a separate vehicle. The drivers from both vehicles required medical attention. Three passengers from the train were also taken to the hospital. No serious injuries were reported. According to officials, the train had pinned the black BMW between itself and a tree. Firefighters had to remove the vehicle’s roof to release the driver.

411 Pain Makes Huge Impact In Atlanta.

The NHTSA has reported that 43,005 people died in motor vehicle crashes in 2002 and that motor vehicle traffic crashes were the 8th-leading cause of death among all ages that year. When broken down by age, crashes were the number one cause of death for every age from three through 33. Among all Georgia motor vehicle accident deaths, about 59% were due to roadway departures, 19% were intersection related, 15% fatalities in crashes involving large trucks, and 178 pedestrians and bicyclists fatalities. Of the 1,603 motorists killed in motor-vehicle crashes, 46% were passenger car occupants and 32% were light truck passengers.

In Atlanta, alone, there were 115 people involved in fatal motor vehicle accidents in 2009. Thirteen pedestrians were killed by motor vehicles that year as well. Countless others suffered severe injuries as a result of car accidents. While fatalities in Atlanta have slightly declined in more recent years, the prevalence of fatal car accidents is nonetheless intolerably high.
