Military Veterans at Greater Risk
of  Car Accidents
Studies have shown that military veterans who have served overseas are 13% more likely to be involved in accidents at which they are at fault. Reports suggest that members of the military who have recently returned to the United States need time adjusting to domestic driving. In the military, they are required to be extremely alert and apprehensive. This could mean the difference between life and death for them. In the US, however, this type of driving is more dangerous than beneficial. Many veterans return to the US and drive the same way they did overseas. Studies show that recently returning veterans have a tendency to swerve out of their lanes at the sound of loud noise, which could possibly cause a collision with another vehicle. They also have a greater tendency to slam on brakes at the sight of potholes or debris in the road, as opposed to cautiously going around it.
As a company dedicated to helping accident victims, 411 Pain advises motorists to drive as cautiously as possible at all times. 800 411 Pain is a strong advocate of safer driving practices for all motorists. Three People Sent to Hospital After Two Car Accident
Three people were rushed to the hospital following a two-car accident on April 16, 2012. When fire rescue arrived to the accident scene, “They found a Toyota Prius on its side with three occupants pinned inside (KPTV.com).” Firefighters had to apply recently acquired skills developed to aid rescue crews with removing occupants from electrically powered cars. The process involved “Disconnecting and de-energizing the hybrid vehicle's electrical lines to prevent being shocked in the process of removing the victims from the vehicle (KPTV.com).” This procedure protects both the firefighters and the vehicle’s occupants.
Fortunately, there were no fatalities associated with this accident. The only occupant unaccounted for is a small, black dog named Zorro. He fled the accident scene and remains missing. The owners are asking that he be returned to a shelter if he is found. Zorro has an electric chip, so his owners would be notified immediately if he is returned to a shelter.
411 Pain would like to remind you to stay alert and drive as safely as possible. Many accidents could be avoided if drivers were not so distracted. 411 Pain strongly recommends avoiding using cell phones, eating, or engaging in any other types of distracting activities while driving. Stay focused on the road and drive as safely as possible.

Train Collision Sends Five to the Hospital

According to Sacto 9-1-1, five people were sent to the hospital after a passenger train collided with a car on March 29, 2012. When the train made contact with the initial vehicle (a black BMW), it forced the car into a separate vehicle. The drivers from both vehicles required medical attention. Three passengers from the train were also taken to the hospital. No serious injuries were reported. According to officials, the train had pinned the black BMW between itself and a tree. Firefighters had to remove the vehicle’s roof to release the driver.
Accidents of any kind are unfortunate. The individuals involved in this accident were extremely fortunate that no one sustained any serious injuries and that no fatalities occurred. It is important to remember that accidents can happen at any time, without notice. The aftermath can be devastating, leaving victims injured and out of work. Airbags For Pedestrians

411 pain's Car safety
Airbags were made a requirement for all vehicles produced in the United States in 1989. Since then, many improvements have been made to the safety features that come standard in cars. Until recently, all of these safety features were created in an effort to protect drivers and their passengers. No features were implemented in an effort to protect pedestrians. Considering that pedestrians accounted for 12 % of all traffic fatalities in 2010, this was certainly an issue in need of correction. The NHTSA reports that “4,280 pedestrians were killed in traffic accidents in 2010 and an additional 70,000 were injured.”
In an effort to reduce the number of pedestrian related injuries and fatalities, several car manufacturers are providing an airbag designed to protect pedestrians as well. According to FoxBusiness.com, “When the bumper senses a collision with a pedestrian, the rear of the hood is released and the air bag inflates to cover one-third of the windshield while raising the back of the car hood, which is designed to reduce the severity of injuries in approximately 85% of pedestrian related crashes.”
The addition of this new safety feature is a huge advancement towards making driving a safer activity for everyone. A car accident can significantly affect everyone involved in one. If you are injured, your daily routine can become greatly impaired. Tasks that were once relatively simple may be difficult or impossible to perform. 411 Pain is a medical and legal referral service with over 15 years of experience. If you or someone you know was injured in a car accident, you should have access to reliable medical and legal advice. Call 411 Pain to find out how they can help.

The 411 Pain: Big Trucks & Big Accidents

411 Pain's Safety
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that “5,374 people were killed in crashes involving large trucks in 1998, representing thirteen percent of all traffic fatalities. Of these, 78 percent were occupants of another vehicle, 14 percent were large truck occupants and 8 percent were non-occupants. An additional 123,000 people were injured in those crashes.”
These are extremely alarming figures considering the number of large trucks traveling the roads every day. Many of the individuals driving these trucks work extremely long hours and are at serious risk of falling asleep while driving. According to the Division of Sleep Medicine at the Harvard Medical School, “Over 100,000 accidents per year are the result of drivers falling asleep while driving. These accidents result in 1,550 deaths and 71,000 injuries a year.”
Driving can be an extremely dangerous activity. A driver can only account for his or her self. Driving cautiously may not be enough to prevent an auto accident. This is why it is crucial to have access to professional legal and medical services, in the unfortunate event an accident does happen. 411 Pain is a medical and legal referral service.

The 411: Distracted Driving

Studies show that approximately 6,000 people die every year in the United States from distracted driving. Over 500,000 injuries occur because of distracted driving. Distracted driving can include anything that draws a driver’s attention away from the road. This can involve talking or texting on a cell phone while driving, putting on makeup, eating, reading a map, setting up a GPS device, or any other distractions. These days, cell phones seem to be the most common factor associated with distracted driving. They also lead to the most injuries and deaths.

Distracted driving is just one piece of a very dangerous puzzle. There are many factors that can cause serious injury or even death when driving. The most important thing to do is make sure we are protected in the unfortunate event an accident does happen. Having access to dependable, professional medical and legal advice is crucial! 411 Pain is a legal and medical referral service that has been in business for over 15 years. If you have been in a car accident, you may be entitled to significant benefits for lost wages and your injuries. 411 Pain’s ultimate goal is to help return your life as closely back to normalcy as possible after a car accident.
